Daniel Joseph Ferguson, Sr., 87 of Plainfield, passed away on March 14, 2025.  He was born on March 26, 1937 in Indianapolis to the late Alma Dee (Callahan) and Oliver Ranzel Ferguson.  Daniel was a U. S. Marine Corp. veteran.  On April 17, 1959 in Pittsboro, he married Betty Lee (Chelf) McCoun.  He worked for General Motors for over 35 years, retiring in 1997.  After retirement he enjoyed keeping tabs on the stock market, being outside in nature, and watching birds, especially bluebirds.  Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Betty Ferguson of Plainfield; children, Connie Williams (Billy), Vickie Groce (Rick), both of Plainfield, Donna Ray (Larry) of Clayton, Dan Ferguson, Jr. (Sandy) of Mooresville, Michael Ferguson of Indianapolis; 8 grandchildren, Laura McClure, Christy Guffey (James), Angie Hoots, Cathi Horning (Shawn), Audra, Ava, Abby and Atticus Ferguson; 5 great-grandchildren, Rhianna, Kendyl, Brennan, Eli and Rylan; and numerous nieces and nephews.  Preceding him in death were his parents; his son, John Ferguson; and his sisters, Barbara Thompson and Ruth Hart.  Visitation will be from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm on Friday, March 21, 2025 in Hall-Baker Funeral Home, Plainfield.  Funeral services will follow at 1:00 pm in the funeral home.  Private entombment will be held at Washington Park North Cemetery Mausoleum in Indianapolis.
