Corey W. Combs, 49 of Avon, passed away October 18, 2020.  He was born on June 16, 1971 in Syracuse, New York, to Peter S. Combs, Jr. and the late Nancy D. (Gassenmeyer) Combs.  Corey worked as a millwright for Quemetco-RSR in Indianapolis.  He was a member of the Steelworkers Union and St. Augustine Episcopal Church.  Corey was a true outdoorsman.  He loved fishing, collecting shark's teeth, the beach and watching wildlife.  When indoors he enjoyed cooking, eating and was an avid history buff.  Survivors include his daughter, Cortnie Combs of Camby; father, Peter Combs, Jr. of Avon; brother, Peter Combs III of Avon; sister, Kara Moore (Kevin) of Plainfield and nephews, Ira and Ari Moore of Plainfield.  His mother, Nancy Combs, preceded him in death on March 12, 2020.  Services will be held at 6:00 pm on Friday, October 23, 2020 in Hall-Baker Funeral Home, Plainfield, with visitation from 3:00 pm until the service time in the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Exotic Feline Rescue Center 2221 E Ashboro Rd Center Point, IN 47840.
