Chester E. Wilhite, 88 of Rochester, passed away March 18, 2018 in Rochester.  Born November 7, 1929 in Hazelwood, he was the son of Charles and Catherine Singleton Wilhite.  He married Loretta Jane Smith on October 18, 1949.  Chester was a property appraiser for P D A in Indianapolis for 20 years, retiring in 2001.  He was a member of the Hazelwood Baptist Church for over 40 years and recently attended the First Baptist Church in Mentone.  Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Loretta; son, Michael (Cheri) Wilhite; daughter, Sherry (Bob) Gonser; daughter-in-law, Marge Wilhite; son-in-law, Jim Bracket; 15 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.  His parents, siblings, son, Perry Wilhite and daughter, Cathy Bracket, preceded him in death.

Services will be at 11:30 am on Friday, March 23, 2018 in the Hazelwood Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Clayton Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 9:30 am until the service in the church.  Contributions may be made to Lifegate, Inc. P. O. Box 5 Monrovia, IN 46157.  Hall-Baker Funeral Home, Plainfield, is in charge of the arrangements.
