Chester C. Hoop, 83, of Danville, passed away on October 08, 2024. He was born on January 22, 1941 in Sioux City, Iowa. His mother, Delores (Darrow), and father, Harry Hoop, Jr., preceded him in death. Chet married Pamela J. Stackman on April 09, 1988 in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. He was a machinist at Detroit Diesel Allisons before retirement. Chet was a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post #118 in Danville and the Belleville Masonic Lodge #65. He was an avid horseman, loved to dance, and in his earlier years enjoyed coon hunting. Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Pamela J. Hoop of Danville; children, Julie (Mike) Evans of Coatesville, Lisa (Harlan) Mayner of Danville, Lisa (Larry) McKinney of Phoenix, AZ, John David (Dana) Walker of Camby, Kelly Walker (Gary Bell) of Martinsville; siblings, Evelyn Bleil of Kingsley, IA, Stephen (Betty) Hoop of Clayton, Candace Hoop of Clayton; grandchildren, Ben (Angie) Mayner, Cecily (Charity) Mayner, Patrick (Amanda) Evans, Emily Evans, Nicholas (Toria) Evans, Logan McKinney, Lindsay McKinney, John Michael Walker, Macy Walker (Joe Paul); great grandchildren, Kate Mayner, Bryce Mayner, Ada Evans, Sterling Evans, Mia Walker, John Bradley Walker; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Dick Hoop, Harry "Bud" Hoop; son-in-law, Harlan Mayner and great grandson, Abram Evans. Baker Funeral Home, Danville, is handling the arrangements. A Celebration of Life will be held from 12:00 noon until 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at the Hendricks County American Legion Post #118 in Danville.
