Charles L. Fisher, age 81, of Clayton, passed away on November 3, 2023 in his residence.  He was born in Ward, Arkansas on March 13, 1942 to the late Audley and Cora Dillard Fisher.  Charles was an Excavator/ Equipment operator for Murrain Excavating for over 50 years before his retirement.  He was a member of the Clayton First Baptist Church.  Charles enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and above all else taking care of his family.  Survivors include his children, Darrell Jackson, Christopher Fisher, Jeffrey Fisher; his long-time, loving companion, Mabel Short; siblings, Arlene Conover, Margaret Wheeler, Mattie Nisler, Audrey Barraco, Gathry Aue, Cloys Fisher; mother of his children, Judy Fisher; grandchildren, Heather, David, Brittany, Noah, Loren, Jadon, Josey; and great-grandchildren, Jackson, Anderson and Bodie. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Diana Lynn Peterson and several siblings.   Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at 11 a.m. in Hall-Baker Funeral Home, Plainfield.  Burial will follow in Clayton Cemetery.  Calling hours will be held on Monday, November 6, 2023 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the funeral home.   Memorial contributions can be made to the Clayton First Baptist Church 4797 Iowa Street Clayton, Indiana 46118.
