Carey Garretson. Price, age 90, of Plainfield passed away peacefully on June 10, 2025.  He was born on October 10, 1934, in Danville, Pennsylvania to the late James Garretson and Cora Etta Libby Price. He served in the US Army from 1954-57 and was stationed at Arlington Hall Station, Army Intelligence.  In 1955 Carey married Sue Dayton Price (1932-1981), settled in Arlington, VA and was employed for over 30 years as a salesman and department manager for Sears, Roebuck, and Co. in the Washington, D.C./Baltimore area.  After his retirement he held a number of parttime positions including as a bus driver and dispatcher for the Delaware Transit Corporation, Rehoboth Beach, DE. He was an avid bow hunter and hiker and loved sharing the outdoors with friends and family.  He enjoyed writing personal memoirs and edited newsletters for the Virginia Bow Hunters Association and Plainfield Christian Church Senior Bible Study Group.  Carey was a devoted man of God and was a regular member of a number of congregations throughout his life.

Preceded in death by his parents, wife, and brother, Thomas F. Price. Survivors include his children: Brian K. "Bing" Price (Arla Bush) and Sherwood "Woody" Price (Mary Elaine).  Sister: Rosemary Price Nelsen (Paul).  Brothers: J. Travers Warwick Price (Janet) and William Price (Bonnie).  Granddaughters: Eleanor Lorraine Price, Letitia Rosemary Price, Alicia Ruby Price and Helene Sue Price.  He is also survived by 3 nephews, 2 nieces, and numerous extended family.

A longtime resident (2019-2025) of Oaks At Plainfield independent living apartments Carey enjoyed Bible classes, movies, and social time with his many friends there.

Memorial Services will be held on Saturday July 19, 2025, at 12 noon in the Plainfield Baptist Church of Plainfield, 1575 Reeves Rd, Indiana 46168.
