Bruce S. Jewell, 80 of Plainfield, passed away March 07, 2018 in Danville Regional Rehabilitation Center.  Born December 22, 1937 in Springfield, Illinois, he was the son of L. Wayne and Mary Stewart Jewell.  He married Doris Strickland on July 15, 1961 and she survives.  Mr. Jewell received his master's degree from the University of Illinois in Champaign and was an U. S. Army veteran.  He worked in marketing for Stokely-Van Camp for many years before retiring.  He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Doris Jewell of Plainfield, several nieces and nephews and several grand-nieces and grand-nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents and 3 nephews, Richard, Wayne and Kenny.  Services are pending at Hall-Baker Funeral Home in Plainfield.
