At just 18, Bonnie began her 40-year teaching career in Greenville, Ohio, teaching during the school year and attending college in the summers.  Over the years, she taught Latin, General Business, Bookkeeping, Typing, and Shorthand.

After marrying Willard C. Eggers, Bonnie taught at New Winchester High School before moving to Danville High School, where she not only taught but also established the school's first Guidance Department.  She later spent 24 years as a guidance counselor at Wayne Township Schools.

In 2013, Bonnie was honored with induction into the Danville Alumni Hall of Fame.
