Betty Lou Knight, 96 of Plainfield, passed away on July 18, 2026 at Avon Healthcare. She was born on February 28, 1930 in Paoli, Indiana, to the late Anna “Mae” (Busick) and Claude Cook. Betty married Wendell Knight on March 15, 1947 in Bedford and he preceded her in death.

Betty worked as a cashier for Galyan’s Trading Post and also many years at Marsh Supermarket retiring in 1995. She was a member of the Maple Grove Baptist Church in Plainfield. Betty enjoyed gardening and crocheting.

Survivors include her daughters, Linda Casey (Bill) of Lafayette, Brenda Knight of Colorado Springs, CO; 3 grandchildren, Tina Sheets, Aaron Patterson (Amber), Autumn Shea (Brandon); 3 great grandchildren, Ryan Patterson, Avery Starz, Ashley Shea; and sister-in-law, Nadine Cook. Additional family members include her nieces, Sandy, Dianna, Patty, Connie, Sherry; and nephews, Gary Terry, Mikey, David, Howard, Lewis, Tracey, Ivan, Phillip, Kelly and Stephan. Her parents; husband; son, Robert “Bobby” Knight; brothers, Claude “Bud” Cook, Jimmie Cook; and sister, Martha “Jean” Cook, preceded in death.

Hall-Baker Funeral Home, Plainfield, is handling the arrangements. There will be no services at this time. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to any Veteran’s organization.
