Betty J. Humphress, age 102, of Plainfield, passed away on June 12, 2026. She was born on March 06, 1924 in Indianapolis to the late Chester Griffith and Martha (Stewart) Dragoo. Betty married Edward Humphress on June 29, 1962 in Indianapolis and he preceded her in death in 1990.

Betty was the office manager for Indiana Bell for many years until her retirement. She was a member of the Plainfield United Methodist Church, Order of the Eastern Star Plainfield Chapter #414 and the Plainfield Eagles Lodge #3207 Ladies Auxiliary.

Survivors include her daughter, Terri (Justin) Mitchell of Coatesville; sons, Duane (Becky) Walker of Florida, Bill (Maria) Walker of Fairland, Bob (Brenda) Humphress of Florida, Chuck Humphress of Columbus; sister, Sally Jo Chrisman of Florida; several grandchildren including Christina Bayse of Indianapolis, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Larry Cranfill; daughter, Judith Ann Humphress; and brothers, William and Jerry Griffith.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, June 26, 2026 in the chapel at Floral Park West Cemetery mausoleum. Hall-Baker Funeral Home, Plainfield, is handling the arrangements.
