Betty Lou Finchum, 86 of Clayton, passed away on August 27, 2026. She was born on December 21, 1939 in Barbourville, Kentucky to the late Bertha (Campbell) and Delbert Burnett.
She married the love of her life, Donald Lewis Finchum, on July 13, 1957 in Amo and he survives. They have two children, Brenda Earles and Will Finchum (Michele); three grandchildren, Trent Earles (Emily), Austin Finchum (Lindsey), Jessica Lawrence (Nick); and seven great-grandchildren, Laine, Owen, Carson, Kaylee, Gabby, Alayna and Alyssa. Her sister, Jeanette “Puny” Wiggam also survives. Betty was preceded in death by her parents; and three brothers, George, Elmer and Charles Burnett.
Betty loved to cook food for her family and would often have enough leftovers for everyone to take something home. She also enjoyed doing things with her children whether it was shopping and going out to eat with her daughter, Brenda, or watching her son, Will, play in his various sporting activities.
Betty was a dedicated Jehovah’s Witness baptized in the early 70’s and has been faithful ever since. She was a member of the Plainfield Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
A memorial service will be held at 6:30 pm on Monday, September 28, 2026 in the Amo Community Building 5046 W Sycamore St Amo, IN 46103. Baker Funeral Home, Danville, is handling the local arrangements.
