Bettie Jean (Armstrong) Courtney, 78 of Plainfield, passed away on July 29, 2022.  She was born on December 20, 1943 in Lebanon to the late Douglas and Beatrice (Johnson) Armstrong.  Bettie and her husband, Don, made a marriage vow to love each other, and they did for sixty-one wonderful years. Bettie married Don on March 26, 1961 in Indianapolis.  She worked for Garden City School in Wayne Township. Bettie was a member of the Fleming Garden Christian Church in Indianapolis.  She loved to cook, embroider, and take care of her family.  She was giving, compassionate, kind, and always the first person to help anyone in need. Survivors include her husband, Don Courtney of Plainfield; children, Donald Courtney (Julie) of Martinsville, Brenda Justus (Gene), Scott Courtney, both of Plainfield; 5 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.  Her parents and siblings, Bruce Armstrong, Mary McKinzie, Douglas Armstrong and George Armstrong, preceded her in death.  Hall-Baker Funeral Home, Plainfield, is handling the arrangements.  No services are scheduled at this time.
