Alma Mary Cook, 96 of Plainfield, passed away November 9, 2021 in her residence. She was born on September 12, 1925 in Perry County, Indiana, to the late Edward and Emma (Huber) Naviaux. She married James Leon Cook on September 28, 1954 in the St. Susanna Catholic Church and he preceded her in death in 1987. During the war, Alma worked as a Rosie the Riveter in California. She and her husband formerly owned several Shell Service Stations in Plainfield. Alma was a member of St. Susanna Catholic Church in Plainfield and very involved with the Women's Club and Young @ Heart. She enjoyed quilting, baking (especially pies) and sewing. Alma was also a member of several Euchre Clubs throughout the years. Survivors include her daughters, Cathy Heymig (Bob), Karen Haak (Robert), both of Plainfield; 5 grandchildren, Jeremy Cook (Wendy), Joshua Heymig (Heather), Kianna Heymig, Abigail Fritcha (Joshua), Alex Haak (Kendyll); and 7 great grandchildren. Her siblings, Leonard Naviaux, Olivia Hagedorn, and Irene Mosby, also preceded her in death. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, November 15, 2021 at St. Susanna Catholic Church, Plainfield, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00-4:00 pm on Sunday, November 14, 2021 at Hall-Baker Funeral Home, Plainfield, with the Rosary to be said at 3:30 pm. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St. Susanna Catholic Church 1210 E Main St Plainfield, IN 46168.
