Obituary

Alfred E. Havens, 98 of Danville, passed away on January 4, 2018.  Born December 31, 1919 in Terre Haute, he was the son of Albert Elwood and Olive Rose Mae Myers Havens.  He married Billie Lou Clark on November 13, 1948 and she survives.  Mr. Havens began his 54 year career with the railroad at New York Central continued with Penn Central and retired as an engineer from Conrail in 1991.  He was an U. S. Army veteran and a member of the Whitestone Christian Church.  Survivors include his wife, Billie Lou Havens; sons, Michael (Debbie) Havens of Greencastle, Mark Havens of San Antonio, TX; 4 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.  His parents, brother, 2 sisters and 2 great grandchildren preceded him in death.  Services will be at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 in the Whitestone Christian Church with burial to follow at 3:00 pm in the Roselawn Cemetery in Terre Haute.  Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the service time in the church.  Baker Funeral Home, Danville, is in charge of the arrangements.
