Stuart Martin Sharpe, 70 of Clayton, passed away September 4, 2017. Born April 30, 1947 in Joliet, Illinois, he was the son of Donald Martin and Martha Louise Crissey Sharpe. He married Pamela Wenz in 1980 and she survives. Stuart received his bachelors in education from Indiana State University and his master’s degree and EDS degree in education from Indiana University. Mr. Sharpe worked for the Indiana Department of Corrections for 38 years. He retired from the Plainfield Correctional Facility in 2009 as a teacher. He was a co-founder and member of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity at Indiana State University. Stuart enjoyed woodworking, golf, tennis and coaching girls’ softball. Survivors include his wife, Pam Sharpe of Clayton; daughters, Andrea (Adam) Carter, Amy (Robert) Hubbard, Kristy (Brad) Coats; brothers, David Sharpe, John Sharpe; grandchildren, Bailley Hubbard, Sydney Pierce, Drew Pierce, Lilly Carter, Collin Carter; brother-in-laws, David Wenz, Levi Lewis, sister in law Nancy Keeton and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother Hal Sharpe. A Celebration of Life will be held beginning at 2:00 pm on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at his daughter Andrea’s residence 2917 E CR 400 S Cartersburg, IN 46168. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Parkinson’s Awareness Association P. O. Box 19575 Indianapolis, IN 46219. Hall-Baker Funeral Home, Plainfield, is in charge of the arrangements.
