Shari L. Gray
73, Carmel, passed away on February 19, 2018 at Allisonville Meadows in Fishers, IN. Shari was born on September 6, 1944 in Indianapolis, IN to the late Leonard and Coral (Gwinn) McCleaster. Shari graduated from North Central High School in Indianapolis. After graduation, she joined the workforce as an orthodontist assistant and remained in the field for 41 years. Shari loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and friends, gardening, and playing euchre with the girls, but her greatest enjoyment was serving the Lord. Shari was a founding member of Woodland Springs Christian Church (now Hazel Dell Christian Church) where she sang in the choir, participated in Sisters in Service, Sunday school and the bowling league.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Clif Gray; daughter Cori (Rich) Freebourn of Batavia, IL, sons Cameron (Melissa) of Fishers, IN, Casey (Corrine) of Atlanta, GA, and stepdaughters, Wendy (Steve) McNeil and Allyson (Joe) Furtney of Portland, OR; seven grandchildren, Taylor, Logan, Reagan, Jordan, Jesse, one due in August, Conor and Olivia; brother Mike (Gail) McCleaster of Marietta, GA. Preceding Shari in death is her brother Steve (Judy) McCleaster.
The family wishes to extend their most sincere thanks to the memory care staff at Allisonville Meadows who have lovingly cared for Shari for the past two years.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, March 10, 2018 in the Hazel Dell Christian Church in Carmel. Fellowship time will be one hour prior to the service in the church. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in memory of Shari to the Hazel Dell Christian Church Mission Fund 14501 Hazel Dell Parkway Carmel, Indiana 46033. Hall-Baker Funeral Home, Plainfield, is handling the arrangements.
