Ruby Louise (Gregory) Dennis

Ruby Louise (Gregory) Dennis, 72 of Venice, Florida (formerly of Plainfield), passed away September 13, 2018 in Danville.  Born November 27, 1945 in Kentucky, she was the daughter of Ernest Burton and Mary Josephine (Ray) Smalling.  Louise was the postmaster at the Plainfield U. S. Post Office for 19 years before retiring.  She married John L. “Jack” Dennis on April 12, 1997. She was a member of the Congregational Church in Nokomis, FL.  Survivors include her husband, Jack Dennis of Venice; children, Jerald Gregory, Jr. (Debbie S.) of Danville, IN, Lisa Haney (Michael) of Hilliard, OH, Mary Helen Gregory of Danville, Children by marriage include Chuck Dennis (Theresa) of Charleston, SC, Jennifer Robinette (Thorpe) of New Bern, NC; sister, Gloria Babcock of Jensen Beach, Florida; grandchildren, Jerald’s children are Christopher M. (Mary L), Jason M., Jeremy S. (Jennifer Raber), Tyler J. Gregory, Lisa’s children are Allen (Jessica), Cassie Jo (Connor Burridge), Lara Haney, Mary’s son is Jerald Andrew Gregory, Chuck’s children are Alexander, Thaddeus, Charlie, Matthias Dennis, Jennifer’s children are Joey Sheridan, Tyler Robinette (Tara); great grandchildren, Christopher’s children are Lillian K., Colin M. Gregory, Allen’s children are  Adrianna McClung, Indiana Haney, Tyler Robinette’s children are Alex, Xavier, Austin and Colton. Her parents and 7 siblings preceded her in death.
