Robert Joe Templeton, Sr., 77 of Plainfield, passed away on Thursday, March 15, 2018, in Johns Creek, GA with his family by his side.  He was born on August 29, 1940, in La Cross, WI to proud parents Marjorie and Charles W. Templeton.  The family moved to Plainfield where Joe graduated from Plainfield High School.  Joe majored in mechanical engineering at Rose Hulman University and Purdue University.  Joe played the saxophone as a member of the Purdue marching band.  He worked as a mechanical engineer at SaniServ for most of his working years before retiring.

Joe loved fishing, hunting, and woodworking.  He cherished his time with the family at our cabins, holidays, and annual fish fries.  There are many fond memories of Joe singing and family playing instruments during family gatherings.  One of Joe’s favorite songs is Amazing Grace.  Everyone who met Joe commented on his infectious smile.

Joe is survived by his loving wife of 56 years JoAnn, brothers Donald of Plainfield and Charles (Chuck) of Sullivan.  His children, Shannon Templeton Postier, Alpharetta, GA; Robert Joe Templeton, Jr., Plainfield and Tracy Templeton Luckino, Suwanee, GA; he was proud of his grandchildren Heather R. Postier, Victoria C. Eggers and Dominic J. Luckino.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 7:00 PM on March 30, 2018, at the Hall-Baker Funeral Home, Plainfield.  Funeral services will begin at 1:00 PM on March 31, 2018, at the Followers of Christ church in Carlisle, Indiana.  The final resting place will be at Bethlehem Cemetery, in Carlisle.
