Richard B Hume

Richard B. Hume, 87 of Danville, passed away August 15, 2018 in Wellbrooke of Avon.  Born June 26, 1931 in North Salem, he was the son of the late Pauline Thomson and John T. Hume, Jr.  He married M. Jane (Voorhis) Hume on June 4, 1955 and she preceded him in death March 30, 2017. 

Dick worked as an underwriting supervisor at Indiana Insurance for many years.  He and his wife, Jane, also owned and operated Hume’s Antiques for 22 years, retiring in 1999.  He was an avid golfer, a member of Theta Chi while attending Indiana University, West Bridge Church in Danville and also served with the Indiana National Guard.

Survivors include his children, Leslie Hall (Michael) of Pittsboro, Michael Hume (Sandy) of Carmel, Libbie Vernon (Jamey) of Indianapolis; brother, John T. Hume III; 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. 

Services will be at 2:00 pm on Friday, August 17, 2018 in Baker Funeral Home, Danville, with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery, North Salem.  Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until the service time in the funeral home.
