Norman W. Gulley passed away on July 21, 2019 at the age of 86. Born in Benton, Illinois on April 19, 1933 to Irvin Glenn and Mary Lois (Mackey) Gulley, he had two sisters, Doris Donie and Glenda Griffith. His parents and sisters preceded him in death. Norman married Gloria (Quinett) Gulley on April 30, 1955 in Vincennes, Indiana and they were married 62 years before her death on July 16, 2017. They had five children, Jeanne Sagar (Tom), Glenn Gulley (Laurie), Doug Gulley (DeAnn), Phil Gulley (Joan) and David Gulley (Ken Paul). He had ten grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A resident of Danville, Indiana since 1957, he was a salesman for S. C. Johnson and Company for 32 years. After retiring he served as the Center Township Assessor for several years. Additionally, he served on the Danville Town Council, and with Lee Comer was instrumental in bringing the Symphony in the Park to Danville in 1986. He was a 50 year plus member of Phi Delta Kappa Gamma Theta Chapter, a U. S. Army veteran and formerly coached Danville Little League and Babe Ruth baseball.
The family invites you to share your condolences on Monday, July 29, 2019, from 4:00-8:00 pm and also one hour prior to the funeral service on Tuesday, July 30, at 11:00 a.m. at Baker Funeral Home in Danville.
