BATTY, Fredrick (Fred) Foster, 89, of Avon, passed away at home after a long illness.
He was proceeded in death by his wife Carolyn Brown after 55 years of marriage, his parents Bill and Bernice Batty, his brother Tom Batty, his son Curt Batty, and granddaughter Janice Whalen.
Survived by daughter: Jamie Batty Zaring; Grandchildren Jason Zaring (Melissa),
Anthony Batty and Josh Batty; Great grandson Daymeon Zaring and Great granddaughter Sydney Zaring.
Step grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends that he treated just as if they were his own family
A special thanks to his caregiver Sadie Ketchum and others from Changes Home Care as well as his hospice caregivers from Great Lakes Caring. They gave him dignity and comfort till the end of his life.
Fred graduated in 1948 from Arsenal Tech High School. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War driving supply trucks to the front lines. Fred retired from GM Allison Transmission after 43 years of service.
Fred loved God, his family; especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren, golf, fishing, gardening, the Reds, Pacers, Colts, racing and his country.
Graveside service West Ridge Park Mausoleum. 9295 W 21st St, Indianapolis (Raceway and 21st street) Saturday May 11 at 3:30 pm.
Celebration of Life immediately following at Fraternal Order of Eagles, 5556 US 40, Plainfield.
