Obituary

Bette Sue (Gray) West, 81 of Danville, passed away August 2, 2019 peacefully at home with her family by her side. She was born on December 2, 1937 in Carbon Hill, Alabama, to the late Wilson and Thelma Norene (McGough) Gray. She married Dale Russell West on July 29, 1978 in Sandusky, Ohio. Bette was an inspector for Chevrolet Truck and Bus for over 20 years, retiring in 1990. She loved to cook, enjoyed gardening, camping, boating, fishing, hunting and almost any outdoor activity while she was healthy. Her children were the primary focus of her entire adult life. Her husband spoke of the love of his life as the “Best Companion a man could ever dream of”. She will be dearly missed and prayers are greatly appreciated. Her family includes her husband of 41 years, Dale; children, Robert Scott Chambers of California, Crystal Dee Weimer (David) of Florida, Theresa Suzann Reese of Washington, Thomas Dan Chambers of Danville, Frances Noelle Chambers of Avon, Elizabeth Susann Kolumbus of Coatesville and Jacqueline Noreen Andrew (Ben) of Avon; 14 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Her parents and daughter, Crystal Dee Weimer, preceded her in death.  A memorial service will be held at Blanton House Retreat and Conference Center 625 N. Washington St., Danville, Indiana. Wednesday August 7th, 2019 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. with ceremony at 6:00 p.m. Flowers can be delivered to Baker Funeral Home 387 E Broadway St., Danville, IN as they are in charge of the final arrangements.
