Alice Virginia Meyer, 94 of Avon, passed away on March 22, 2024. She was born on January 30, 1930 in Seymour, Indiana, to the late Florence Virginia (Finley) and Herbert Quincy Foster. Alice married George W. Meyer, Jr. on August 29, 1948, in Seymour and he preceded her in death on May 19, 2011. She enjoyed many things but her true passion was always children. “Miss Alice” had a preschool and daycare in her home for 35 plus years retiring in 2002. She also was a member of the Chapel Rock Christian Church and served as a Sunday school teacher. Survivors include her sons, George W. Meyer III of Tucson, AZ., Christopher F. (Rachelle) Meyer of Heritage Lake; daughters, Deborah K. (Rick) Meyer of Noblesville, Celeste J. Meyer of Avon, Ginger L. (Mitch) Davis of Avon; 16 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; and son-in-law, Danny Miller of Indianapolis. Her parents; husband; her siblings, Estel Foster, Esther Engelking; and daughter, Pam S. Miller, preceded her in death.
Services will be at 2:00 pm on Thursday, March 28, 2024 in the Chapel Rock Christian Church with entombment to follow at West Ridge Park Cemetery, Indianapolis. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the service time in the church. Baker Funeral Home, Danville, is handling the arrangements.
