Thomas G. Cummings, 97 of Plainfield, Indiana passed away peacefully December 18, 2017 at home.  He was born in Tilden, Indiana to Wands Earl and Blanche (Kennedy) Cummings.  He was a graduate of Plainfield High School in 1939, where he lived for the remainder of his life.  Thomas is survived by his wife of 68 years, Martha Lou; daughter, Lou Etta (Fred) Lakins; sons, Larry (Jean) Cummings, Mark (Patti) Cummings, Eric (Christy) Cummings; 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.  Thomas was a loving husband, father and grandfather.  He enjoyed time spent with his family and loved watching sports.  Thomas served in WWII from 1942-1945 stationed in Italy and Africa.  Thomas was passionate about wood working and in his younger years enjoyed fishing and traveling with his wife and children.  He had previously worked at Diamond Chain but retired from Hebrew National in 1993 at the age of 73.  Visitation will be held at Hall-Baker Funeral Home, Plainfield, on December 21, 2017 from 4:00-8:00 pm.  Funeral service will be at 11:00 am on December 22, 2017 in the funeral home with visitation one hour prior to the service.  Pastor Gary Whorlow will officiate.  Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery 5252 W 52nd St Indianapolis.
