Shirley M. Peters, 93 of Danville, passed away December 08, 2017.  Born November 14, 1924 in Hazelwood, Indiana, she was the daughter of Fred and Mary Albertson Mynatt.  She married Noel A. Peters on June 8, 1946 and he preceded her in death in 1993.  Shirley was a graduate of Clayton High School, Central Normal College and received her master’s degree from Indiana State University.  She was a school teacher for North Salem Elementary for 30 years, retiring in 1984.  Shirley was a member of the Alpha Theta Epsilon Sorority and the Order of Eastern Star.  She served as a former district deputy and was one of only five in the state of Indiana to be a former Star Point.

Survivors include her sons, Mike (Barbara Jane) Peters, Steve (Rhonda) Peters, all of Danville; brother, Harold (Jerry) Mynatt of New Whiteland; grandchildren, Ryan Peters, Heather (Mike) Jackson, Ranea (Matt) Johnson, Nathan (Amanda) Peters, Drew Peters and 10 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and 9 siblings.

Services will be at 11:00 am on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 in the North Salem United Methodist Church, of which she was a member.  Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery.  Calling will be from 4:00-8:00 pm on Monday, December 11, 2017 in Baker Funeral Home, Danville.  In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Wheeler Mission Ministries 245 N Delaware St Indianapolis, IN 46204.
