Roy Herman Goetsch, 74, of Plainfield, IN, passed away on October 27, 2017. Roy was born January 15, 1943 in Plymouth, Wisconsin to Robert and Louise (Harms) Goetsch. A 1961 graduate of Plymouth High School, Roy entered the U.S. Air Force in May 1963, and served for four years as an aircraft mechanic, both in England and throughout Europe. Roy returned to Wisconsin in December 1967, where he soon met Nancy Schuler, who he married on June 1, 1968. They spent more than 49 years together, moving between Wisconsin, California, and Indiana.

Roy was an active member of his community while farming for more than 15 years in Wisconsin, volunteering with the American Legion, Greenbush Volunteer Fire Department, and Jaycees. He then spent another 15 years working at United Airlines in both maintenance and leadership roles. Throughout his life, he spent many hours serving neighbors and friends by working on lawnmowers, tractors, go-karts, woodworking projects, and any other handyman work that people would bring to him.

Roy is survived by his wife, Nancy Goetsch; children Matt (Ellen) Goetsch, and Todd (Hannah) Goetsch, siblings Lois (Ross) Mueller, Loretta Goetsch, Janice Goetsch, Claire (Mark) Asbury, Mark Goetsch, and his grandchildren Emilia, Elizabeth, Jonah, Makayla, Emma, Benjamin, and Luke; and multiple nieces and nephews. Roy was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service for family and friends will be planned for some time next spring or summer in Wisconsin.
