Robert Eugene “Bob” Groomer, 81, of Plainfield passed away on November 20, 2017 in Indianapolis. He was born on October 30, 1936 in Bloomfield, Indiana to Robert Russell and Ruth B. Fields Groomer. He married Madonna Clanton-Kelly in 1989 in Russellville, Indiana; she survives. Bob was a physical education teacher and basketball coach at Northwest High School for 34 years; He also was a real estate broker and home builder. Bob received his master’s degree from Indiana State University and was also a member of the Coatesville Missionary Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday November 22, 2017 at 12 noon in Hall-Baker Funeral Home, Plainfield. Burial will follow in Bethel Hill Cemetery, Thorntown, Indiana. Calling hours will take one hour prior to the funeral service. Survivors include in wife Madonna J. Groomer. Daughters: Ann Groomer Moore and Robin Groomer. Step-daughters: Kim McNeilly and Dawn Stiles. Step-sons: Jay Kelly and Cris Kelly. Sister: Mildred Deem. Grandpa Bob had 13 grandchildren and 4 Great Grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations are welcome to made to the Coatesville Missionary Baptist Church 5105 Milton St. Coatesville, Indiana 46121
