Lean was one of our favorites and will be missed! At the Worrell Reunion last summer, as we were leaving, I gave her a hug and kiss, and said,”See you next year if not before,”.
She said yes, then paused and said, “At my age you never know,”. Lena, we love you and will see you one day over there!

Lena, someone I loved ....we had not known each other but a few short years...but we cared deeply for each other.....she was almost 100 years old...lived through many changes in our country...she was a widow two times .... no children but ooodles of loving family....

She started out as my home health client and we ended up friends...it didn't matter we were not of the same hue...it mattered that we were women and could talk about many various subjects...

I was only recently notified she had been placed on hospice....I took her a big ceramic Santa Claus filled with fruit from Edible Arrangements, something I knew from previous experience she enjoyed eating.....last time I saw her on Sunday it was the only thing she would eat....that made me feel good....

while her aide was briefly absent she told me how she had lived a good life....I was glad to hear her say that because I had wondered (within myself) if she really understood that her demise was imminent...

I only hope I can say that whenever my days draw to a close....

I love you Lena...thank you for greatly enriching my life, your friend forever Kyle

My condolences to Lena's family. Ronald was a Bailey cousin of mine. Lena was always sweet & fun when we had family gatherings. We always called, Lena, Charlene Alexander, Evaline Morrison & Ruby Neal Dale the Bailey girls. Ruby, Uncle Artie Bailey's daughter is 103 and the last of the gang. You will all be in my prayers.
