Larry Wayne Spurling, age 63, passed away at his home in Danville, IN on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 after a long struggle with cancer. He was born on November 11, 1952 in Indianapolis, IN to Allen Spurling and Jean (Boring) Spurling. He was a 1972 graduate of Danville High School. Larry worked for the Town of Danville for several years before taking a job with Citizens Thermal Energy of Indianapolis. Larry loved his family and friends, riding his Harley, and spending time at the campground (Lake Melissa) where he had a permanent camping spot. He was a hard worker, had a heart of gold, and was always the life of the party. He is survived by his wife, Cindy (Hunter) Spurling, two children, Kristi (Spurling) Strahl, Eric Spurling, three step-daughters, Annie (Hunter) Evans, Jessie (Ward) Summerlot, Marcie (Ward) Twigg, 9 grandchildren, brothers, Mike Spurling, Terry Spurling, Kenny Ford, Tracey Spurling, sister, Joy Roseman, and many nieces and nephews. Larry was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Teresa Braun. Visitation will take place Saturday, August 6, 2016 from 11am – 2pm with a memorial service starting at 2pm at First Assembly of God 3399 E Main St, Danville, IN 46122. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Richard M. Fairbanks Burn Center at Eskenazi Health 720 Eskenazi Ave Indianapolis, IN 46202, where Larry received great care during 2 separate incidents.  Baker Funeral Home, Danville, is in charge of the arrangements.
