Wendell Eugene "Gene" Gibbons, 76, Indianapolis, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family, on November 30, 2016 in his residence.  He was born on July 31, 1940 in Reelsville, Indiana to Roy and Naomi Darnell Gibbons.  Gene was a dedicated employee of Adams Catering Service for 46 years before retiring in 2010. He was a member of the Plainfield Eagles #3207 and Lynhurst Baptist Church. He  enjoyed NASCAR, Colts Football, darts, hunting and fishing.  Gene especially loved boating with Sue and spending time with his family and friends.  He was devoted to loving and caring for Sue. There was simply nothing that he would not do for anyone, even a stranger.Calling hours will be on Tuesday December 6, 2016 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. in Hall-Baker Funeral Home Plainfield.  Funeral services will be held on Wednesday December 7, 2016 at 11 a.m. in the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers please make donations to the family.  Survivors include the love of his life for the last 33 years Sue Peterman.  Son: Wendell E. Gibbons Jr. Daughters: Angela Thompson, Kelly McCormick (husband, Doug)  Sheila Ellis (husband, Jim), Pam Pedigo (husband, Gary), Angela Knuckles, Dana House (husband, Andrew) and Melanie Messer.  Eighteen Grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. He is proceeded in death by his parents, one grandchild and two great-grandchildren.
