The wind was stripped from my sails in learning of Ervin's passing.At a very young age my family moved from the city to the country and became next door neighbors of the Penner family.Soon after Ervin and his family took me under their wings as a city boy,they taught me the true compassion of country living and the aspects of life on the farm.A life to this day i hold close to my heart.The joyful memories of learning from the most loving,caring,and respected family in my life will forever live on as a legacy and legend.Words cannot express enough my appreciation to Ervin and his family for all they have taught me for many years.All i have learned from them has brought me to many higher levels in my life and to this day continues to do so.I pray to the Penner family for comfort during this difficult time as they travel through these deepest,darkest,hours of loosing a loved one.God Bless.

Dear Alfrieda and Family,
We are deeply saddened to hear of Ervin's passing. We have fond memories of our visit with you and Ervin when we stopped en route from Nebraska > Pennsylvania a number of years ago. Lawrence has often spoken of he and Don's coming there over the holidays while they were serving in I-W Service in Pennsylvania. You extended such warm hospitality!
We know that it is terribly difficult for Don and Janet not to be there with the family this weekend, due to their health no longer permitting them to travel that far. We are glad that Leonia, Gene and Pat are able to be there with you.
May the Lord comfort you in your great loss.
