Dorothy Eileen (Jones) Savoldi

January 21, 1934 ~ January 3, 2018 (age 83) 83 Years Old

Dorothy Eileen Savoldi, 83 of Danville, passed away January 3, 2018.  Born January 21, 1934 in Lafayette, she was the daughter of Walter Robert and Alice Mae Chase Jones.  Eileen married John A. Savoldi on November 11, 1952 in Attica, Indiana.  She was a homemaker and a long-time member of Mary, Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Danville.  Eileen was very active in her church including the Women’s Club and Forever Young.  She loved to garden, bake and quilt.  She and her 3 sisters held a quilting bee once a month for the last several years. 

Her greatest loves are her survivors, her husband of 65 years, John A. Savoldi of Danville; children, Johanna “Johnnie” (Andy) Shirley of Clayton, Walter “Walt” (Chris) Savoldi of Bloomington, Ralph Savoldi of Mooresville, Carol (Steve) Weakley of Danville, Andrew “Andy” (Dawn) Savoldi of Jamestown; sisters, Mary Lou Lawson of West Point, Jane (Bill) Lutgen of Lafayette, Ruth (Jim) Hawley of West Point; brother-in-law, Larry Pearson of West Point; 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.  Her parents, 1 brother, 2 sisters and a daughter-in-law, Kathy Savoldi, preceded her in death.

Services will be at 11:00 am on Monday, January 8, 2018 in Mary, Queen of Peace Church with burial to follow in Clayton Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 2:00-5:00 pm on Sunday, January 7, 2018 in Baker Funeral Home, Danville, and also one hour prior to the service in the church.  Contributions may be made to Mary, Queen of Peace Church 1005 W Main St Danville, IN 46122.
