Carl H. Smith, 92 of Plainfield, passed away on September 29, 2016 in Avon Healthcare.  He was born on February 7, 1924 in Worthington, Indiana to Charles and Agnes Acton Smith.  Carl was the widower of Helen Blanton Smith.  He worked for Duke Energy retiring as a systems load supervisor in 1986 after 40 years.  He also was a volunteer driver for the Hendricks County Senior Center for 12 years.  Carl was an Army Air Corp veteran of WWII.  He was a member of the Plainfield Christian Church, Plainfield American Legion, Plainfield Optimist Club and 66 Fighter Wing Association 8th Air Force.  Calling hours will be held on Friday, October 7, 2016 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. in Hall-Baker Funeral Home, Plainfield.  Funeral services will be on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at 11 a.m. with Reverend Tim Gephart officiating.  Burial with Military Rites will  follow in Maple Hill Cemetery, Plainfield.  Survivors include his children, Carla Jean Lange and Don Smith; 3 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.   He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Donald and Robert Smith; a grandson, Cory Lange and a daughter, Charla Smith.
